Fiji’s head coach Simon Raiwalui has named his squad, making one change to the starting XV that defeated the Wallabies 22-15, for the match against Georgia on Sunday.
Selesitino Ravutaumada starts on the win, replacing Jiuta Wainiqolo.
When they go head-to-head on Sunday morning, it will be the sixth meeting between the two teams. Fiji has won three of their previous encounters, while Georgia has won one. Their latest match-up in a November 2021 Test ended in a 15-all draw.
Nine players from the squad that played in the 15-15 draw against Georgia have been named in the match-day squad for Sunday’s encounter including skipper Waisea Nayacalevu, Eroni Mawi, Sam Matavesi, Peni Ravai, Viliame Mata, Frank Lomani, Vilimoni Botitu, Josua Tuisova, and Albert Tuisue. Mata scored one of Fiji’s tries in that match. In their last RWC meeting, Semi Radradra scored two tries. Samu Tawake is poised to make his RWC debut having been named on the bench.
The match is scheduled for a 3.45 am start Sunday (FJT).
