Fiji Rugby has named its 13-man squad for the opening leg of the HSBC SVNS Series in Dubai in two weeks’.
The Fiji Airways Fiji 7s squad features Jeremaia Matana, Joseva Talacolo, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Ilikimi Torosi Naruma Vunaki, Alusio Rauto Vakadranu, Terio Tamani Veilawa, Pilipo Bukayaro, Ratu Sakiusa Vatunitu Siqila, Waisea Nacuqu, George Bose, Apete Narogo, Vuiviwa Naduvalo, and Ratu Manueli Nete Maisamoa.
Fiji enter Pool A, dubbed the “group of champions”, where they face a formidable set of opponents: Argentina, the reigning SVNS league champions; France, the Olympic gold medallists; and South Africa, the current world champions.
The women’s draw is equally intense. Fiji, New Zealand, France, and the USA make up Pool A, while Pool B sees defending champions Australia start their campaign against Japan, followed by Great Britain taking on Canada in a fixture that consistently draws strong support.
The Emirates Dubai 7s is scheduled for November 29-30.
