Fiji Football happy with district teams’ overseas sponsors

A number of overseas-based individuals and companies have yet again come out to show their support to local football clubs at the 2020 Vodafone Fiji FACT which starts tomorrow in Lautoka.

Defending Vodafone Fiji FACT Champions Nadi once again secure Esy Kool Air Conditioning from Australia as one of its major sponsors. Joining forces with Esy Kool is Kris Transport, another Australian-based company.

New Zealand-based Electrical company Powerwise Electrical(NZ) is the major sponsor for the Babasiga Lions Labasa team. The company also backed the Labasa side in 2017 during the Pacific Cup in Auckland.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf says they are delighted and welcome such gestures from the international community.

“We encourage this as it assists district teams in terms of the pandemic and lack of local sponsors coming up, and this is a great gesture,”  Yusuf said.

It is also understood Ash Cuts & Style who is the major sponsor for Rewa FC is also an overseas-based company. Meanwhile fans from Australia via the Bluez Fan Club, are the major sponsors for the Lautoka side.

Games start at 1.30pm at Churchill Park with Nasinu taking on Ba in the opening encounter and Nadi face Lautoka at 3.30pm. On Sunday, at the ANZ Stadium in Suva, the home side takes on Navua at 1pm followed by the Labasa versus Rewa game at 3pm.
