Fiji Elections voter survey launched; People’s views to be taken into account

To ensure a smooth, efficient voting system is in place for Fiji’s next general election, the Fijian Elections Office today launched the voter perception survey that is set to gather and garner information to help with the execution and running of the next one.

Launching the survey in Suva today, chair of the Electoral Commission Barbara Malimali said the survey will go a long way in ensuring that there is not only an efficient delivery of the system but a proper and just one as well.

‘The 2024 voter perception survey is far more than a procedural task, it’s a vital instrument for transformation. It embodies our commitment to listening to the people of Fiji, understanding their experiences and responding to their needs and positions. through this initiative the Fijian Elections Office this survey will work to identify areas that will require attention.’

Malimali said that getting the peoples views recorded was of utmost importance to the Commission and to the Fijian Elections office as well.

‘This survey is a significant step towards ensuring that our elections are not just free and fair in name but also truly reflecting the will of the people of Fiji by capturing the perceptions and sentiments of Fijians across the nation, refine our strategies, address concerns and enhance the overall elections experience.”

The survey can now be accessed online through the Fijian Elections office portal.
