Fiji Elections: FEO publishes list of polling venues for 2022 polls

The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) has published the list of polling venues that will be used for the 2022 General Election, some of which may change if they become unavailable.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said the list, published today in the two local media print publications contains the names of all polling venues that were approved by the Electoral Commission in 2021.

“Following the issue of the Writ, if any venue became unavailable, the FEO will make arrangements and place notices accordingly,” Mr Saneem said.

In the meantime, Mr Saneem advises voters to access the list to locate their polling venues to avoid any confusion.

“Each Polling Venue may have several Polling Stations to distribute voters and maintain a maximum of 650 voters per Polling Station,” Mr Saneem said.

The publication of the list is in accordance with Section 41 (2) of the Electoral Act, 2014. It contains the names of polling venues around the country and addresses of polling venues by divisions.

Voters could also check their polling venues by texting their VoterCard number to 1500 upon which voters will receive a text containing details of where to vote. This is a free service for all mobile networks. They can also use locate their polling venue via the polling venue locator on: services.feo.org.fj/PVL.

Printed copies of the polling venue list are available at the FEO headquarters and FEO Divisional Offices.  Voters can also access the complete list in today’s Fiji Times and Fiji Sun as well as on the FEO website at www.feo.org.fj/polling-venue-list.
