The Secretariat of Pacific Community has applauded the new Fiji Airways route from Nadi to Noumea.
With the SPC’s headquarters based in Noumea, this new flight route eases travel times and is convenient.
“We look forward to being able to further reduce our carbon footprint, the cost of our travel and increase access across our region, all of which contribute to our key development priorities which Pacific Leaders have called for towards the vision of our Blue Pacific region by 2050,” said SPC Deputy-Director General Dr Paula Vivili.
“Having Fiji Airways fly direct to and from New Caledonia is not only an opportunity for increasing tourism in our region but for the Pacific Community this brings us closer to our Headquarters in Noumea and our colleagues based in our Member country of New Caledonia.”
“We have just renewed our partnership with the New Caledonia Government and SPC is committed to strengthening the engagement with Pacific Island Countries and territories so this step by Fiji Airways will further bolster the direct flight routes offered by Air Calin.”
