The Fiji 21&U Baby Pearls are set to depart for the Cook Islands today to compete in the World Youth Cup Oceania Qualification.
Team Manager Lusiana Rakavono highlighted that the Oceania Qualifier is an excellent opportunity for the team to gain valuable game time in preparation for the World Youth Cup in Gibraltar next year.
“We’ll be leaving on Friday for the Cook Islands, and our goal is to secure game time. This doesn’t mean we are merely participating; we must apply what we have been training for and execute the strategies taught by our coaches,” Rakavono said.
The Oceania competition will start on September 16.
The Baby Pearls secured their place in the Netball Youth World Cup next year by finishing fourth in the World Youth Cup in 2017.
