FEO launches voter registration drive in schools

Voter registration drive in schools reopened today via a launch at Lautoka Muslim College by Fiji’s Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem.

It is understood that such drives at schools are for teachers and students looking to register for the first time, or change their details including names and/or upgrade their voter cards in the lead up to the 2022 General Elections.

Voting registration services for the rest of the voting public continue from all Fijian Elections Office voter services centres in towns and cities which will remain open until the issuance of the writ for the election.

The locations and opening hours of these FEO centres can be found on the website at www.feo.org.fj as well as on the FEO Facebook page. The earliest date the writ can be issued is 26 May.

Meanwhile, the launch today was one of three engagements by the FEO in the West as part of preparations for the 2022 General Elections – the other events being the training for presiding officers and training to enhance community engagements on the election with a view to improving understanding of the conduct of elections and participation on election day proper. Both training sessions were held at the Tanoa Waterfront Hotel in Lautoka.
