A 40-year-old man accused of raping his daughters, aged nine and seven, is among 16 people facing sexual offence charges, including a 16-year-old boy and two police officers, whose cases were registered with the high court in Fiji last month.

The man is facing multiple counts including six of rape and two each of sexual assault and indecent assault.

He is one of eight accused individuals related to their victims, including the 16-year-old boy. The teenager is accused of raping his five-year-old cousin brother. In another incident a 42-year-old man was charged with two counts of rape of his 16-year-old stepdaughter. A 49-year-old man was charged with one count of rape, four counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault of his 13-year-old niece while in another incident, a 50-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 31-year-old niece.
A 30-year-old man was also charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault of his 16-year-old and 13-year-old nieces.

Of the officers, a 51-year-old was charged with the sexual assault of a 23-year-old female policer, whilst a 52-year-old was charged with the sexual assault of a 47-year-old woman.

There were two separate incidents where a 44-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were charged with the rape and sexual assault of their de facto partners. However, both cases were dropped due to inconsistent evidence and the victims’ unwillingness to testify.
