The Fiji Rugby Football Union Trust Board (FRFUTB) today announced the appointment of a new High-Performance Senior Leadership team.
This team comprises B-J Mather, a former English rugby international and High-Performance Director at the NSW Institute of Sport in Australia, Alana Thomas, a former Wallaroo and Super W Head Coach from Rugby Australia, and Bill Gadolo, a former Flying Fijian and the current FRFUTB National Teams Manager.
FRFUTB Interim Chairman Peter Mazey says these appointments have been made possible with funding from World Rugby’s High Performance Investment Programme, and aim to enhance Fiji Rugby’s preparation and performance leading up to the 2027 World Cup in Australia.
Mather will serve as the General Manager of High Performance, responsible for leading the High-Performance Program, focusing on achieving sustainable success for Fiji’s national teams and developing Fijian High-Performance coaches and staff. Thomas will take on the role of High Performance Manager, Women’s Rugby. Her responsibilities will include overseeing Women’s Fijiana XVs and 7s programs. Gadolo has been appointed as the Elite Pathways and Performance Manager. He will oversee pathway, age-group, and talent development programs for both men’s and women’s XVs and 7s, in addition to elite coach development.
Mather, Thomas, and Gadolo are set to commence their roles in the coming months, with a focus on improving Fiji’s national teams’ preparation and performance.
