Fiji Police have captured one of the two prisoners who escaped from the Suva High Court last week.
The escapee, Paula Muayara, was apprehended this morning in Narere, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu.
Efforts to locate and apprehend the remaining escapee, Vilimoni Saumaki, are ongoing. The authorities are urging members of the public to assist by providing any relevant information about Saumaki’s current location. A reminder is also being issued that aiding or hiding escaped prisoners is considered a criminal offense.
