Donu makes Dubai 7s Women’s Dream Team

Fijiana 7s’ Sesenieli Donu is the lone Fijian to be included in a Dubai 7s’ tournament Dream Team, after being named as one of the three forwards in the women’s dream team line-up.

The 25-year-old was named alongside Sharni Williams, Charlotte Caslick and Faith Nathan from Australia, Ciofani of France and Kristina Seredina from Russia.

Donu finished the second round of the Dubai tournament over the weekend as the third best DHL Impact player with 95 points, pipping Alowesi Nakoci by a point on the back of an impressive ball carries stats at 37 to 29. She is also eleventh on the 2021/22 series try scoring table with seven tries from 10 appearances.

She was part of the Fijiana team that won bronze at the recent Olympics in Tokyo, has also featured in the Skipper Cup competition. During her high school days, she reportedly won gold in the 2016 Coca Cola Games Senior Girls Long Jump event for Jasper Williams High School.

Meanwhile, the Dubai 7s Men’s Dream Team is made up of four South Africans in Pretorious, Visser, Brown and Van Wyk; Australians – Turner and Roache and Kenya’s Humwa.
