Fiji’s road death toll this year has increased to 14 after a man in his 70s died when the taxi he was driving veered off the road in Savusavu this morning.
Fijian authorities said the accident happened after 7am near Delainavaqiqi along Buca Bay Road.
“He failed to negotiate a bend resulting in his vehicle veering off road, Fiji Police said. He died en route to Savusavu Hospital.
The road death toll was nine for the same period last year.
