The 43-year-old woman accused of assaulting her daughter and injuring her while intoxicated has been remanded in custody.
Maria Waqasaqa was issued an interim restraining order when she appeared before a magistrates court in Nasinu this afternoon.
The court heard that Waqasaqa hit her 16-year-old daughter with a mop stick, and threw an empty beer at her, hitting her on the head.
The case will be called again next Friday, but before a high court in Suva.
