Court remands Navua murder accused

A 24-year-old man charged with the murder of an elderly caretaker in Navua last weekend has been remanded in custody.

Aliki Tiko’s case has also been transferred to a high court in Suva where he will appear next on Monday, 1 March.

Tiko is charged with one count of murder.

Prosecution documents showed that the incident happened in Viwawa. Tiko allegedly assaulted the victim, stabbed him several times, robbed him, then left him in a drain. The deceased’s body was found the following day.
