Court finds Salote Radrodro guilty

Fiji’s Anti-Corruption Court today convicted SODELPA MP Salote Radrodro on one count each of giving false information to a public servant and obtaining a financial advantage.

Anti-Corruption Court Judge Justice Dr Thusara Kumarage found her guilty of obtaining allowances amounting to nearly $38,000, under false declaration, between June 2019 and April 2020.

In making his ruling, Justice Kumarage said evidence provided in court proved that Radrodro’s permanent residence was Tacirua Heights and not Namulomulo village in Nabouwalu, Bua as she had declared to parliament.

Radrodro was first elected to parliament following the 2014 elections as a SODELPA candidate. She returned to parliament for another term following her re-election in 2018.
