Five police officers who allegedly planted a bag of methamphetamine in a man’s car early last year have been released on bail.
The five, Rusiate Tuga Ralase, Simione Basulu, Apisalome Vesikula, Samuela Antonio and Orisi Tukana are jointly charged with one count of conspiracy to defeat justice.
Ralase and Basulu, for having arrested the man without any lawful basis, each face an additional charge of abuse of office.
Magistrate Jeremaia Savou adjourned the case to 23 April 2021 for plea.
