Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu says living up to the role of SODELPA Parliamentary Leader and Opposition Leader will not be an easy feat.
It will be challenging to fit in the shoes of my predecessor, Ratu Naiqama said in his first address to the press following his appointment today, after Sitiveni Rabuka resigned as an MP and subsequently as the LOP yesterday.
“We really want to take us forward in this important journey,” Tui Cakau said. “And especially in this important position to portray that we are the alternative government. We are the alternate. If we offer criticism, to government policies, the criticism has to be constructive. [We have to provide] good feedback into whatever policies that been brought forth by the government. That’s our major role in the opposition.”
