Bright future for Fiji soccer; Abundance of Young Players: Krishna

Fiji soccer captain Roy Krishna says Fiji has an abundance of young talent in the game giving the sport a bright future here.

Krishna says if nurtured right, the players will excel in the sport and will be able to secure good contracts with overseas clubs to further their career.

“There is so much talent in the country, just look at the level of soccer in the primary schools, secondary schools and clubs around Fiji. The interest in soccer grows and we must work to make sure it stays that way or even grow bigger.”

The striker who plays for Indian Super League club Odisha, is spending time in the country with family before he leaves for pre-season training in India next week.

“Just spending time with my wife and our families because I return to India in the coming week.”

“I will get to watch the first round of games at the BOG this weekend and it will be good to relax and witness some good football.”
