Videos posted online appear to confirm reports of Vilimoni Botitu joining the FIJI Water Flying Fijians team as a replacement for the injured Caleb Muntz.
In the video, one of Botitu’s teammates from the French club Castres Olympique bids him farewell and wishes him well.
Botitu was initially part of the RWC 2023 squad and has played in recent games for the Flying Fijians, including their impressive 35-12 victory over Japan in the Pacific Nations Cup.
The versatile back has reportedly been contacted to rejoin the camp due to Muntz’s unfortunate knee injury, which has ruled him out of the Rugby World Cup.
