Fiji Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old in Ba, with authorities revealing a pre-existing medical condition as a contributing factor.
Allegedly assaulted prior to his admission to Lautoka Hospital, the victim’s death certificate cites complications from his medical ailment as the cause of death.
“Investigators, however will continue to pursue the allegations of the alleged assault, and gather further statements from medical authorities, to rule out the link between the claims of assault to the victim’s death,” Acting Police Commissioner Juki Fong Chew said.
