Fijiana Drua set up Rebels in Super W debut

February 22, 2022

Draws of Rugby Australia’s top women’s XVs league, the Super W is out and the Fijiana Drua have been lined up against the Melbourne Rebels in their opening game next month.

The match starts at 5.30 pm on Saturday 5 March at a venue still to be decided.

A week later, the Senirusi Seruvakula coached side then take on Queensland Reds in round two at 6.15 pm at the Suncorp Stadium. This will be their second meeting after their pre-season hit out last weekend in which the Fijiana toppled the hosts 34-20.

Round three sees them face off with the Western Force at 2pm on Saturday 19 March at the Leichhardt Oval.

They are on a bye in round four, a much-needed rest before they take on the reigning Super W Champions, the Waratahs, who are the most successful team in the competition having won all four titles since the competition began. Details of the game are still to be confirmed, but it is shaping up to be a match not to be missed, with the host side having named Fijian and Wallaroos’ duo Iliseva Batibasaga and Sera Naiqama in their 30-member extended squad.

For their final Super W hit out, the Fijiana will play the Brumbies at 7.15 pm on Saturday 9 April at Suncorp Stadium.
