Meanwhile, 21 more COVID-19 patients have recovered, which means there are now 1311 active cases in isolation. There have been 1728 cases during this outbreak that started in April 2021, and a total of 1798 cases since the first case was reported in March 2020.

There have been 14 deaths overall in Fiji since the first case in 2020, of which 12 have been recorded in the current outbreak. Of the 12, four are deemed COVID-19 related and eight positive patients are said to have died from pre-existing non-COVID-19 related illnesses.

The 7-day average of new cases per day has increased to 105 cases per day or 119 cases per million population per day.
