People of Bua are bracing for their ‘biggest nightmare’ after Fiji’s latest weather update projects severe tropical cyclone Yasa to make landfall in the province tonight.
“Please pray for us. [Keimami sa kere veimasulaki tiko yani. Keimami sa waraka tu qo na cagi qo],” Suka, former Nasawana village headman told MaiTV.
“We have moved the elderly and children to stronger structures as everyone waits for this strong wind.”

Essential service providers have been visiting villages and communities in the province where TC Yasa is expected to wreak havoc.
Villagers in Sawani, Nasolo and Nasawana that we spoke to said they have carried out preparations as best as they could.
