Nausori health services relocated to Vunimono Secondary

December 17, 2020

Residents of Nausori and sorrounding areas will have to travel to Vunimono Secondary school should they seek medical care.

Health services including maternity care, to some extent, have been temporarily relocated to the school’s ground floor, for an indefinite period.

Fiji’s Ministry of Health cited risks of flooding and structural damage of the Nausori Health Centre as the main reason for relocation.

“There will be limited maternity services available, however, the CWM and Makoi Maternity Units will be on standby to accept maternity cases,” the ministry said in a statement. “

Nausori Health center will be operational 24-7 manned by Nausori staff to attend to injuries and as holding/observation.

Authorities will decide as and when it is feasible to resume services at the health centre’s usual location in Nausori town.

Earlier today, members of the disciplinary force were deployed to assist in the relocation of patients to the school.
