Bula Football Club has confirmed Extra Supermarket as its naming rights and major sponsor as the club enters the new OFC Professional League.
The partnership marks a significant expansion of the company’s involvement in the sport after being a steady supporter of Fiji football, backing various tournaments and community competitions and this new deal brings their total investment across all levels of the game—including futsal and domestic leagues—to FJD $1,000,000.
Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel welcomed the commitment, noting the importance of corporate backing for the sport’s new direction.
“Extra Supermarket has always been behind football in Fiji,” Patel said. “To now see them involved at the professional level with Bula FC is very encouraging and shows a real belief in the direction the game is heading.”
The sponsorship is intended to help Bula FC establish a professional environment that can inspire younger players and compete on the international stage.
Lailanie Burnes, Extra Supermarket’s Chief Marketing Officer, said the partnership is about more than just visibility.
“It is about nation building through sport, inspiring our youth, uniting communities and proudly positioning Fiji on the international football stage,” she said.
Bula FC is currently preparing for its first match in the OFC Professional League, where it will represent Fiji against other professional clubs from across the region.
Their opening match will be against Vanuatu United FC which will kick off at 2pm at Eden Park in Auckland o Saturday.
