Bula FC Ready for Historic Pro Debut in Auckland

Bula FC coach Stephane Auvray is keeping expectations grounded but ambitious as the team heads into its first-ever season.

While he believes the squad can give any opponent a run for their money, he says this maiden year is equally about gaining experience and learning the professional game.

Auvray noted that while the players are gelling well, the focus remains on understanding each other’s styles. Ahead of their opening clash with Vanuatu United FC, the former international stressed the magnitude of what the club has achieved in a short time.

“Let’s be realistic—just last year there was no professional football team in Fiji. In only a few months, we have put one together and now they’re headed to their first game,” Auvray said.

“I know they can do the work expected of them, but I also know this will be a learning curve, so I anticipate some teething problems.”

The historic match kicks off this Saturday at 2:00 pm at Eden Park in Auckland.
