The Fiji Bitter 7s Series has begun in Labasa, running from Thursday 8 January to Saturday 10 January 2026 at Subrail Park.
A record number of teams are competing, with 40 men’s sides, 29 under-21 teams, and 10 women’s teams – a significant increase from last year. New entrants include teams from Gau, Vanua Balavu, Cikobia, and Kadavu. For the first time, all women’s champions are participating.
Organisers say the event is more than just a competition, with prizes for best-dressed teams, cheering squads, and talent scouts watching emerging players for future representative squads.
Tournament organiser Vika Tucake praised Fiji Bitter’s ongoing support.
“What started as a small event has become a major fixture on the rugby calendar,” she said.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners’ Head of Marketing for Alcohol, Etrina Simpson, added that the sponsorship aims to strengthen communities, support athletes, and celebrate Fiji’s rugby culture.
“Our commitment to the Fiji Bitter 7s Series goes beyond sport. It is about investing in communities, creating pathways for promising athletes, and creating a culture of excellence. Rugby is part of Fiji’s identity, and through this partnership, we aim to strengthen that legacy while driving economic and social benefits for the North.”
