Fiji Airways and Fiji Rugby Extend Deal to 2027

Fiji Airways and Fiji Rugby have officially extended their partnership for another two years, ensuring the airline remains the main sponsor for the national sevens side until May 2027.

And to celebrate this renewal, new uniforms for the Men’s and Women’s 7s teams for the new HSBC series were also unveiled.

Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO, Paul Scurrah, said the partnership extension reflects the airline’s deep connection to rugby and the Fijian spirit:

“Fiji Airways has proudly sponsored Fiji Rugby for nearly a decade – a partnership built on shared pride and purpose. Rugby is part of Fiji’s national identity; it unites us, inspires our youth, and carries the hopes of the nation every time our teams take the field. The new jersey is more than a design it reflects our shared journey and the world-class talent and resilience of Fiji.”

FRU Chief Executive Officer, Koli Sewabu, thanked the national airline for the renewed partnership.

“This partnership with Fiji Airways is a major boost for us. It gives confidence to our players, coaches, and management that our Principal Partner stands firmly with us in every challenge and triumph.”

“At the centre of the jersey is the triangular huddle pattern, echoing the formation players gather in before every match – hands pointed upward in a symbol of togetherness, shared purpose, and reverence for God.”

“This powerful cultural and spiritual motif represents the grounding, discipline, and brotherhood/sisterhood that guide both teams on and off the field.”

The updated jerseys feature a triangle pattern that represents the team huddle and for the first time, a lush green shade has been added to the design to represent Fiji’s forests and landscapes.
