Fiji Airways national 7s men’s coach Osea Kolinisau says the 2025/2026 HSBC SVNS series will provide another level of competition which will require the national side to lift their game from the get-go.
Kolinisau, speaking to the media, said while many were shocked at the pools already drawn for the first leg in Dubai next month, Fiji will do all they can to make sure they are fully prepared for it.
“Alot of people are saying that it’s too tough, but I have told the boys that we will meet these teams twice or 3 times during the competition so it’s no difference really.”
Kolinisau takes a team of 14 players across to the Ignite 7s in Tauranga, New Zealand tomorrow and upon return to Fiji next week will confirm the side that is to go to Dubai.
“We have been having grueling sessions, taking them through basics and working to fine tune combinations before we leave for NZ where Australia, NZ and other teams will be playing.”
For the Dubai 7s, Fiji is in Pool A with Argentina, France, and South Africa.
In Pool B NZ, Great Britain, Australia and Spain.
