The newly refurbished Tovata Learning Centre has been officially launched at the Tovata Methodist Church Community Hall, thanks to a $30,000 initiative led by BRED Bank Fiji in partnership with FENC Fiji and the Tovata Methodist Church.
The centre, part of BRED Bank Fiji’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, provides a safe learning environment for underprivileged children from Class 3 to Form 7.
Outgoing BRED Bank CEO Thierry Charras-Gillot described the project as “a beacon of hope,” aimed at empowering young minds and steering them away from poverty and social challenges.
“This Learning Centre represents the true essence of our motto, ‘Aligning Energies.’ It stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for the children of this community. Together with FENC Fiji and the Tovata Methodist Church, we have created a space that empowers young minds to thrive, steering them away from the challenges of poverty and social issues such as drug abuse.”
FENC Fiji will oversee operations, offering educational support and resources.
Nirmala Nambiar, Head of Operations of FENC Fiji said: “We look forward to seeing smiles on our children’s faces and the community’s positive support in running the Learning Centre. Together, we can ensure a brighter future for every child who steps through these doors,” she added.
Additional contributions, including furniture and laptops from Capital Insurance, have further enhanced the facility.
Now open, the centre is set to be a hub for education, growth and opportunity.
