Continuing the narrative, keeping the discussions alive and working to find effective solutions to combat the effects of climate change in our Pacific and the world must not stop.
And Senior Program Manager for the Global Development Network Joao Morais Costa says this has been a big part of Fiji hosting the Global Development Conference this year.
“The conference has drawn together people from all over the world and it is amazing to hear stories of resilience, of hard work and sacrifice and the innovative ideas that are being discussed to help people everywhere combat the effects and dangers of climate change.”
Costa said participation has been overwhelming and the outcomes will show the commitment of stakeholders.
“It’s particularly encouraging to hear people talk about what has worked in the past and what hasnt and an identification for the revival of the traditional ways of survival.”
The conference has heard from industry leaders, stakeholders, researchers from various universities and students.
Over 200 delegates are attending the conference which is being held at the University of the South Pacific and will be closed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Biman Prasad today.
