Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital recently held a three-day Pediatric Cardiac Nursing seminar to enhance its nursing staff’s skills in pediatric cardiac care.
Led by Australian experts Kennedy Shine and Jasmin McBride, the seminar focused on the latest innovations and best practices, aimed to improve the skills of local nurses and set new benchmarks in pediatric cardiac care.
The initiative was supported by Scarborough Rotary Club Perth and NGO Health in Kind and emphasised continuous learning and professional development.
Hospital Director Dr. Krupali Tappoo highlighted the importance of ongoing training for exceptional patient care.
“Their expertise and dedication have been invaluable in equipping our nurses with advanced skills crucial for delivering exceptional care to our young patients.”
“Our goal is not only to meet international standards but to set new benchmarks in pediatric cardiac care in Fiji and the Pacific,” stated Dr.Tappoo. “Through initiatives like this seminar, we empower our nurses to deliver compassionate and effective care that makes a real difference in the lives of our young patients and their families.”
The hospital’s initiatives, including the Gift of Life program, have provided numerous free surgeries and echocardiograms. So far, through the Gift of Life Program, 296 life-saving heart surgeries and more than 16,500 pediatric cardiac echocardiograms have been offered free of charge.
Chairman of the Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital, Sumeet Tappoo, also said that the Hospital was committed to expanding its capacity and enhancing healthcare outcomes for children across Fiji
