Heavy rainfall, exceeding 100mm in 24 hours, has been recorded in the western and central divisions, with Nadarivatu and Toge in Ba registering the highest rainfall at 126mm.
This is followed by Korolevu and Tavua with 120mm, Viwa with 117mm, Nacocolevu (Nadroga) with 113mm, Navala (Ba) with 112mm, Rarawai (Ba) with 108mm, Tokotoko (Navua) with 106mm, Monasavu with 102mm, and Nabukaluka with 101mm.
Although the Northern and Eastern Divisions currently receive minimal rainfall, the Fiji Weather Office warns that rain bands are expected to drift towards them later today or overnight, putting low-lying and flood-prone areas at risk.
Meanwhile, weather conditions are expected to improve from the Western Division overnight, gradually improving across the rest of Fiji. Generally fine weather is expected over the coming weekend.
