Fiji’s Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho has directed additional resources to be provided to the taskforce conducting the search for escaped prisoner Lemeki Tupali who escaped from the Colonial War Memorial Hospital last night.
Tupali who was with Fiji Corrections Officers at the hospital is considered to be high risk and members of public are urged to call their nearest police station if they have information regarding his whereabouts.
He was serving time for a series of aggravated robbery cases.
ComPol also reiterated the warning that anyone found to be aiding or harbouring Tupali would be arrested and face the full brunt of the law.
