Unity Fiji has named 32 provisional candidates, nine of whom including leader Savenaca Narube are returning to contest the 2022 General Elections under the party banner.
Returning for another run alongside Narube after their 2018 elections outing are party president Aid Silvia Qoro, former FijiFirst MP Alivereti Bulivou, Nasoni Mua, Makera Dawai, Taniela Wai, Suliasi Tamanalevu, Rt Jope Naucabalavu and Nazim Khan.
They are joined by Ana Fine Domoni, former assistant to former PM Laisenia Qarase, former PS Education Iowane Tiko, lawyer and singer Natalie Raikadroka, community advocate of survivours of breast cancer Mereoni Taginadavui, businessman Eliki Lisione, Children Welfare Community Advocate Rt Veitaia Vuinakelo, economist Mohammed Khan, farmer and former schoolteacher Fane Kacimaiwai, former Telecom manager Moses Bakaniceva, former civil servant Jone Soko, Eliki Naqau, former DO Rakiraki Akuila Lagoivau, pastor Ratu Naisa Ratubaka, final year USP student in political science Peni Matanisiga, Akuila Yabaki, former soldier Samuela Tupou, former teacher Timoci Matakiwai, community worker Sekaia Muaduaduakibau, Naomi Navoce, Ravu Dansey, Ilaitia Savai, lawyer Litiana Bulivou, and accountant/farmer Atunaisa Kaitabu.
The party is expected to name 23 more candidates next month.
Of their 55 candidates, the party says 30 per cent are women and 12 per cent are under the age of 40.
