Fijian authorities are investigating the discovery of the body of a farmer in a sugarcane field in Labasa this morning.
Labasa Police were alerted to the discovery by an unknown caller who found the body of the 40-year-old in a cane field at Vatudova Tabia Road.
Police have deployed their crime scene investigation team and the body has since been taken and kept at the Labasa Hospital mortuary.
Authorities say a post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
