Fiji jump to sixth after Vancouver outing

Fiji have moved one place up on the standings despite losing to Argentina in the Vancouver 7s final over the weekend.

The national 7s team was placed seventh heading into the tournament.

Fiji finished sixth after bowing out to the second placed Pumas 29-10 in the main finale.

They picked up 19 points for their effort to amassa total of 65 behind USA and Ireland in fourth and fifth places on 70 and 69 points respectively.

Fifth place finishers South Africa remain atop the standings with 111 points, ahead of Argentina on 105 points and Australia, 100 points.

The HSBC World 7s series takes a break, resuming on 20-22 May in Toulouse.
