Fiji Police have classified the death of a 20-year-old man, who succumbed to injuries sustained in an alleged assault over a month ago, as murder.
Officers, who were responding to a report, found the victim lying motionless inside a residence in Tovata, located about 25 minutes drive from Suva.
The victim had been receiving medical care at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital since May 29 and passed away on Sunday, July 2.
Investigators are awaiting the results of the post-mortem.
