The All People’s party submitted a list of 14 names to the Fijian Elections Office this morning, the sixth political party to file their nominations for Fiji’s 2022 General Election next month.
General Secretary Jone Lesi said that they may field up to seven more names before the closing of nominations at midday Monday 14 November.
On the makeup of their provisional candidates whose names were submitted today, Mr. Lesi said that they are mostly pastors.
“We are here to change the platform that we have been coming here so far,” he said. “We have come here so far on a platform that doesn’t work for us.”
The party intends to launch its manifesto once it has finalised its nominations.
To date, six of the nine registered political parties have submitted their list of provisional candidates. The People’s Alliance is expected to file theirs today as well.
