100-plus new overseas-based voters register for Fiji 2022 Polls

More than 100 voters living overseas have registered to vote and 600-plus more changed their voter cards.

The Fijian Elections Office-led voter registration drive recorded 724 engagements, of which 107 were new voters, going into day eight of registration overseas.

FEO teams have so far covered 15 venues in Australia, eight (8) in New Zealand, and two (2) in the United States.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem has urged Fijians living in these countries to check the schedule on the FEO website and Facebook page for information on where the teams will be based.

“Only a few more days are left for the drive so I would like to encourage Fijians to make use of the opportunity and register if they haven’t already,” Mr Saneem said.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Missions abroad are also providing voter services and will continue to register new voters until Writ Day which is when voter registration will officially close.

More details on the Overseas Voter Registration Drive as well as the schedules can be found on feo.org.fj/overseas-voter-registration/

This round of registrations will conclude on 20 July 2022.
